Well, that's another Melbourne Trade Fair done and dusted, and as usual, The Miners Couch team have scoured high, low, and everywhere in between, to source the very best of everything. Very soon, all of the latest furnishing trends, homeware designs, décor delights and gifting gorgeousness will be filtering through our Moonta store in into the homes of our valued customers.
Trade Fairs are always fun. Let's face it... it's like having a couple of extra Christmases a year! And if you've been keeping a sharp eye on our Facebook Page, you'll have seen Nicola's comprehensive photographic preview journey through this year's offerings. Miles and miles of offerings in fact, taking in every element of décor imaginable!
What became almost instantaneously obvious from the photographic journey, was the fact that rustic is 'still very much the 'in thing', so all things rustic will remain at the forefront of furnishings and décor for at least the next six to twelve months. Get set for the warmth and character of recycled timbers in natural finishes, highlighting gorgeous grains and touchable textures. Furnishings which bring craftsmanship to the fore with panelling, parquetry and old style joinery.
Perfectly offsetting this warmth and workability, will be fabrics, weaves and floor coverings which either pop with bold patterning, or take the natural warmth and texture of timbers (and the cool sheen of polished concrete) a step further... with earth tones and naturals and pastels. I also noticed plenty of plants for indoor display, and all of the accessories which go with them, from beautiful ceramic pots, to wonderful woven plant baskets.
The fantastic thing about the continuation of rustic influences in décor and design, is that under the 'everything old is new again' credo, we are all given free reign to create. Our job is to provide you with the building blocks for your creativity. When you're buying, choose from the heart. Choose pieces you love to look at and spend time with. Amongst the definitions of rustic, you'll find terms like 'simple pleasures' and 'having qualities ascribed to country life'. Surround yourself with things you love, and don't be afraid to mix and match to create your own personal style. Bend the trends to create an environment that brings pleasure to you and your loved ones.
